VP Harris Speaks to Her Plans to Lower Everyday Costs Like Groceries and Health Care

Today, the Harris campaign continued to drive its growing advantage on economic issues, releasing a new ad titled “Your Family.” In the ad, Vice President Harris speaks directly to the American people, including those who may not agree with her on every issue, highlighting the stark contrast between her plan to uplift the middle class and bring down the cost of groceries and health care against Donald Trump’s plans to give tax breaks to the wealthy.

Like she made clear in last night’s CNN town hall, Harris reminds Americans we may not always agree, but the job of president is to fight for all Americans.

“This election is a choice between two very different visions for America. … You may not always agree with me, but I promise I will do everything I can to lift up the middle class and be a president for all Americans.”

Vice President Harris has a vision to lower costs and create opportunity for all Americans, including Black and Latino men, and the sandwich generation – detailed, comprehensive plans that continue to resonate with voters.
• Yesterday’s Bloomberg poll of battleground states found “on every economic issue surveyed, Harris has closed the trust gap or even surpassed Trump as the candidate that swing-state voters trust more.”
• An AP poll found that 46% of voters prefer Harris on middle-class taxes, compared to 35% for Trump. Harris also had an advantage on the cost of housing.
• ABC News found that Harris leads by 5 points, 42%-37%, on who is “looking out for the middle class.”

The Harris campaign knows that the more voters hear directly from Vice President Harris in her voice, the more they like her and are drawn to her agenda.

“Your Family” also follows 23 Nobel Prize-winning economists endorsing Vice President Harris’ economic agenda, calling her plans “vastly superior” to Donald Trump’s. The economists warned that Trump’s policies would lead to “higher prices, larger deficits, and greater inequality,” in contrast with Vice President Harris’ agenda, which would “strengthen the middle class, enhance competition, and promote entrepreneurship.”

As part of the Harris campaign’s $370 million fall ad campaign, “Your Family” is airing on broadcast and cable television across all battleground states, including on programs like Blue Bloods, Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage, Happy’s Place, and I Love a Mama’s Boy, as well as networks like History, TBS, and TNT.
