Overwhelming support for VP Kamala Harris from every corner of the state

Over 100 Minnesota elected officials followed President Joe Biden’s lead and announced their full-throated support for Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic nominee for president to defeat Donald Trump in November.

As Vice President Harris said, she will “do everything in [her] power to unite the Democratic Party—and unite our nation—to defeat Donald Trump and his extreme Project 2025 agenda.”

See just some of the endorsements from Minnesota Democratic elected officials from Governors to U.S. Senators to U.S. House members and state elected officials so far:

Elected official endorsements:

Governor Tim Walz: “Thanks for the call, Kamala Harris. You have my full support. Let’s go win this thing.”

DFL Chair Ken Martin: “As we thank President Biden for his service and for everything he has done for our country, we must also look ahead to the existential stakes in November. Our party must now rally behind Vice-President Harris and emerge as a united front ready to defeat Donald Trump in November.”

Lt. Governor Peggy Flanagan: “Yesterday, Joe Biden demonstrated deep wisdom and showcased the man he has always been by putting his country ahead of himself. Joe Biden’s legacy is already cemented with the generational policies he’s enacted as president. Part of his legacy will also be having the wisdom to select Kamala Harris as his running mate and his Second in Command because she’s a highly qualified and experienced leader. Someone who would be ready to take the baton and lead. As the first Native American and woman of color elected statewide in Minnesota, I am overwhelmed with gratitude and hope. Gratitude for our president and hope for our vice president. Our patriotic duty is to now take that baton and run as hard and as fast as we can with Kamala Harris to protect our freedom to make our own health care decisions, to cast our own votes in free and fair elections, and to let our children grow up as their full, beautiful selves. I’m ready to elect Kamala Harris.”
